Hotspot Fire Project

Namoi CMA

The Namoi Catchment is an agricultural area, supporting the production of crops, as well as grazing. In the Plains region in particular, surface water and groundwater support significant irrigation farms. The catchment holds large reserves of coal and coal seam gas, with a number of open-cut and underground mines already in production, and exploration is continuing, especially in the west of the catchment near the Pilliga. The Namoi CMA has been replaced by the North West Local Land Services. Find us here: northwest.lls.nsw.gov.au/
