Fire and Restoration Resource Hub, January 2024

The Nature Conservation Council’s Fire and Restoration Resource Hub has a range of great new resources for landholders, practitioners and researchers alike.

The recordings from NCC’s Biennial Bushfire Conference Managing Bushfire Together: Applying Science Skills and Stories held in May this year, are now freely available to the public. With over 11 hours of presentations from Traditional Owners, agencies, academics and consultants including speakers such as NSW RFS Commissioner Rob Rogers, Oliver Costello from the Jagun Alliance, Professor David Lindenmayer, Dr Sarah Harris and many more.

The site also has some new training resources that are available for landholders, including short courses on fire management, weed management, supplementary habitat and monitoring, from the Biodiversity Conservation Trust. Read a review of a CSIRO endorsed new children’s book, “Alight” by Sam Lloyd, that follows a hazard reduction burn in a fire prone landscape. Also, learn about a new initiative to provide emergency shelter to ground dwelling mammals after fire with Habitat Hubs, and much more…
