Fire and Restoration Hub, June 2022

Recent articles on the Fire and Restoration Resource Hub include a booklet on cultural burning by The Bushfire and Natural Hazards Co-operative Research Centre (CRC). Aboriginal women’s experiences of cultural burning in Southern Australia are captured in six stories, collated with accompanying illustrated posters.

There is also an article on a new app for android users, Trees Near Me, released by the NSW Department of Planning and Environment, which lets you explore the finest scale of Plant Community Type classifications in NSW out in the field. Read a review of Peter A. Ridgeway’s newest book, A Wide Open Land: Walking the Last of Western Sydney’s Woodlands; or watch a presentation by the Macedon Shire Council on their ecological burn program. Other resources include an article from The Conversation on the link between logging and bushfires, plus many more.
