New Landholder Booklet for the Murrumbidgee Catchment
Tuesday, 15th April 2014
The new booklet, specifically designed for landholders in the Murrumbidgee region, provides an introduction on how fire can be managed for healthy productive landscapes and also presents a framework for incorporating fire into property fire management planning activities.
Fire is part of life on the land in the Murrumbidgee region, with some landholders using fire as a management tool and others concerned about the impacts of wildfire, particularly during drought conditions. This booklet aims to provide knowledge about the nature of fire and its effects on the landscape and aims to help provide greater confidence in managing fire, both for the protection of life and property, and as a land management tool for maintaining landscape health and biodiversity.
