Upcoming Hotspots workshops
Tuesday, 22nd November 2011
The Hotspots team is currently working behind the scenes to set up over 20 programs in the next year for the Northern Rivers, Hunter-Central Rivers, Central West, Hawkesbury-Nepean and Southern Rivers. Already we have workshops scheduled for Summer Hill (Central West), Upper Lansdowne, Bimbadeen, Dunns Creek (Hunter Central Rivers) and Woodburn, Shallow Crossing, Krawarree, Mongarlowe, Bombay, Duea River Valley and Mogenoura (Southern Rivers).
On 22 November, Hotspots ran a field day with a new community in the Lansdowne area near Taree. Landholders and agencies spent the morning on a local property learning about fire ecology and fire management and the afternoon was spent creating fire management plans for individual properties. A second training day will be held in 2012 which will include a prescribed burn.
To learn more about where we are running Hotspots workshops have a look at our “Where we work” workshop location map and/or contact one of our regional facilitators or staff members.
We are always looking for new communities to work in, so if you think you have an area that might make a suitable program location please do not hesitate to contact any of our staff.
